31st World Backgammon Championship: The Next Big Event
Backgammon has been hailed by many as the “next big thing” and this fact will be reaffirmed more than ever by the next big event to be sponsored by TrueMoneygames, a Curacao based online Backgammon and Poker server.
TrueMoneygames is set to sponsor the biggest Backgammon event in the world, the 31st World Backgammon Championship, which will take place on July 10th to 16th at the Fairmont Monte Carlo hotel. This event will gather the best Backgammon players from around the world to decide who deserves to be crowned the World Backgammon Champion and a prize pool exceeding 300,000 Euros will be up for grabs.
The Fairmont Monte Carlo hotel has hosted this event for 30 years and being located in the picturesque heart of the Principality of Monte Carlo has no other equal in terms of eligibility to host such a prestigious event.
To draw fresh enthusiasts into the event TrueMoneygames will be holding Qualifier tournaments online every Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday on its servers. The Qualifier tournaments will run from June 3rd to July 5th 2006.
Winners of the Qualifier tournaments will be granted a full entry package worth around $4500 to the World Backgammon Championship. The entry package includes: tournament entry and registration, standard hotel room for seven nights at the Fairmont Monte Carlo Luxury Resort, and $1000 spending money for the trip.
As much as 12 newcomers may be able to avail of this package by joining the Qualifier tournaments online.
TrueMoneygames is also holding the 2nd World Online Backgammon Championship and the winner of this event will also receive the free entry package to the World Backgammon Championship in Monte Carlo. The Monte Carlo World Backgammon Championship is set to be the arena where online and offline Backgammon giants are set to clash for the prestigious title of the World Backgammon Champion.
It’s not all fun and games though as serious technology will also be taking the spotlight in the event. A public demonstration of SNOWIE Backgammon Artificial Intelligence software will also take place.
SNOWIE, developed by the SnowieGroup SA, is a special analytical software dedicated in playing and analyzing Backgammon and a powerful tool in detecting cheats in online Backgammon games. It represents a major advance in online gambling technology by enhancing user protection from unscrupulous players.
TrueMoneygames plans to broadcast the World Championship in real time and the semi-finals and the finals will feature automated live match analysis made possible by SNOWIE.
