The 5th Annual Costwold Fireside Backgammon Tournament will be held at the Bear of Rodborough Hotel, located on Rodborough Common, Stroud from January 26-28, 2007. The winner will take home 1500 GBP, plus a free hotel accommodation package at the Bear of Rodborough Hotel.

The Champion Flight costs around 140 GBP plus a 10 GBP registration fee to enter the tournament, with an added progressive consolation prize. The tournament is considered one of the most prestigious Backgammon tournaments in Britain. There is also added money of around 750 GBP. On the other hand, the Intermediate flight costs around 45 GBP plus a 5 GBP registration fee.

The Intermediate Flight is composed of a best of 3-7 series and like the Champion flight there will be a progressive consolation with sufficient numbers, as well as 500 GBP added cash. There is also an Amateur Flight which costs 20 GBP, plus a 5 GBP registration cost and will be comprised of 5pt Backgammon matches less the doubling cube and a 7pt final. If the numbers are good enough, there is a progressive consolation. Like the 2 other flights, there is 250 GBP added money. With these great prizes, the 5th Costwold Tournament will be the best ever!
