Blast Off Backgammon Variant

Blast Off is an easy Backgammon variant created especially for those who are just getting a taste of the game of Backgammon, so we certainly recommend it for beginners and children.

The setup of Blast Off is similar to that of regular Backgammon, only every player's 2 back checkers, previously on the 1-point of the opponent, are taken to the front to come together with the 5 checkers at the mid-point.

Blast Off is played just like regular Backgammon, only blots are not hit. Thus, it is basically a game of luck in the sense that it is based on the premise that the winner is the player that rolls higher dice. The skill component in Blast Off is minimal, but it is necessary in the positioning of your checkers for an effective bear off.
