The World Series of Backgammon platform was launched in WSOB Cannes on July 24th, 2009. WSOB Director Andy Bell said that they have great expectations from the platform.

Masayuki Mochizuki defeated Lars Trabolt to win the Monte Carlo World Championship. He won a total of 62,800 euros.
